BAINBRIDGE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)— The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in locating a missing woman whose home was found on fire.

According to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 dispatch center received a call around 7:39 p.m. Wednesday about a structure fire in the 6000 block of East County Road 600 North in Bainbridge, Indiana. The post states that smoke could be seen coming from the home and the first officers on scene made entry in an attempt to search the residence for residents. After searching the home, no one was found inside.

The post continues, stating that during the investigation that the homeowner, 46-year-old Britney Gard, was not home and all attempts to contact Gard have been unsuccessful. Gard has now been entered into other agencies as a missing endangered person by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office due to her unknown whereabouts.

Anyone with information on Gard’s whereabouts is asked to contact Putnam County dispatch at 765-653-5115, ext. 0.
