Man who played role in Crystal Rogers' death officially begins prison term
Joseph Lawson, 34, was sentenced on Sept. 17 to 25 years in prison, with his father, Steve Lawson, who received a 17-year sentence for his role in the crime in May.
On Sept. 29, WDRB reported that Lawson’s attorney said he planned to appeal his sentence to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Joseph was lodged in the Little Sandy Correctional Complex, where jail records indicate he will stay until Dec. 9, 2042. He won’t be eligible for parole until Sept. 17 of that year.
His admittance to the prison came just over two months after the 10th anniversary of Rogers’ disappearance in July 2015. Her family told WDRB they would attend every parole hearing in attendance.
