Man arrested for impersonating officer, holding woman against her will at Meridian hotel

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WJTV) – A 23-year-old man was arrested in Meridian after authorities said he held a woman against her will while impersonating an officer.

According to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MDPS), Dwyon Altman posed as a police officer and attempted to hold a woman against her will during a supposed “sting operation” at a Meridian hotel.

Altman was charged with impersonating an officer, procurement of prostitution and obscene electronic communication.

The case was referred to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) by the Meridian Police Department on September 16, 2025.
