Larger dogs’ adoption fees waived during October at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (DC News Now) — Adoption fees will be waived for all dogs that are over 40 pounds for the month of October at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA).

The waived fees will hopefully help the large dogs find a home, as statistically, larger dogs wait longer at animal shelters before they can find a new home, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

You can go visit adoptable dogs at AWLA’s location at 4101 Eisenhower Ave. in Alexandria.

AWLA said it is partnering with Beyer Subaru to support this initiative.
