The event was designed to educate students about various Hispanic cultures and traditions. Students and staff gathered for an all-school assembly where they experienced cultural expressions.
“I think that’s the goal, right? Education learning isn’t always done in silence. It can be done loud, joyfully,” said Principal RJ Kuligowski. “We’re an elementary school. Kids should be able to be loud and expressive as long as they’re being safe. And I think we did a good job of creating an environment where they got to express that joy and experience something new.”
In addition to the performances, classes participated in a door-decorating contest. This activity encouraged students to explore and express their understanding of Hispanic cultures creatively.
The celebration at Hillman Elementary not only highlighted the richness of Hispanic cultures but also provided students with a lively educational experience. The event underscored the school’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and expressive learning environment.
