BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — October 1, 2025
The Arts Alliance of Greater Bloomington and local art groups will host the Fourth Annual Bloomington Paint Out on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Woodlawn Pavilion in Bryan Park.
The free event, which runs rain or shine, invites artists of all ages and skill levels to participate in plein air painting, art classes, and demonstrations throughout the day. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at the pavilion, located next to the swimming pool.
Sponsored by the Bloomington Watercolor Society, Upland Plein Air, The Portrait Group, Artists for Climate Awareness, and supported by local organizations, the Paint Out features a wide range of classes for youth, teens, and adults between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Offerings include watercolor, acrylic, pastels, portraiture, urban sketching, alcohol inks, gelli printing, and themed workshops such as mask-making, nature wands, and tarot card design.
Artists are asked to have their canvases or multimedia paper stamped before beginning their work, and free supplies will be available on site. In addition to structured classes, artists will give demonstrations throughout the day, and plein air painting will take place across both the park and downtown Bloomington.
Organizers said the event is meant to be accessible, creative, and community-driven. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnics and enjoy a day of art-making and inspiration outdoors.
