Alert issued after laundry, vending machines burglarized near Hyde Park, Bronzeville

CHICAGO — A community alert was issued after a string of burglaries involving laundry and vending machines dating back to early August on the South Side.

The burglaries happened in Bronzeville, Oakland and Hyde Park., In each incident, the suspect enters an apartment building by forcing a door open.

He then damages vending and laundry machines to remove coins from within, according to police.

• 3600 block of South Lake Park Avenue between Aug. 5 at 5:30 p.m. and Aug. 6 at 12:00 p.m.
• 3600 block of South Lake Park Avenue on Aug. 9 at 5:30 a.m.
• 3600 block of South Lake Park Avenue on Aug. 10, 2025 at 5:20 a.m.
• 1000 block of East 41st Place on Aug. 11 at 4:20 a.m.
• 1000 block of East 41st Place on Aug. 15 at 5:20 a.m.
• 400 block of East 43rd Street on Aug. 23 at 6:30 a.m.
• 1000 block of East 41st Place on Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.
• 5200 block of South Blackstone Avenue on Aug. 29 at 12:15 a.m.
• 3600 block of South Indiana Avenue between Sept. 26 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 29 at 8:40 a.m.
