SYRACUSE CITY, Utah (ABC4) — The Syracuse City Police Department is asking for help identifying an electric motorcycle rider who fled from them last month.

According to their social media post, police observed an electric motorcycle rider who was driving recklessly, in addition to other motor vehicle violations, on September 19, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. Now, law enforcement is hoping the public can help find the man who fled an attempted traffic stop.

Officers initially observed the rider in the area of the Syracuse McDonald’s and Smith’s, near 1700 South and 1000 West. The rider then fled into a neighborhood near Tivoli Way and was last seen in the area of 1475 W and 1950 S.

The Syracuse Police Department said that they believe the rider lives in the general area where they were last seen and is asking for the public’s help in identifying them.

Anyone with information on the rider is asked to call 801-825-4400.

Electric Motorcycles

Under Syracuse city laws, electric motorcycles have a power output of greater than 5 horsepower or 750 watts. has throttle and foot pegs, is “not a bicycle,” and looks like a traditional bicycle or dirt bike with an electric motor.

If it is street legal, the electric motorcycle must be registered and insured, and riders must have a valid Class D License with a motorcycle endorsement. If it is not street legal, it cannot be driven on the street and must be registered as an off-highway vehicle.
