
CHICAGO — Commuters faced some delays on Tuesday morning after an operational incident halted and delayed several trains on the Metra BNSF line.
According to a post shared by Metra on Tuesday morning, an operational incident halted inbound train movement near Route 59.
While specific details surrounding the incident remain unclear, officials said the issue caused cancellations and extensive delays.
Metra officials said the following trains did not operate due to the incident:
- Train #1205, scheduled to depart Chicago at 6:16 a.m.
- Train #1236, scheduled to depart Aurora at 7:32 a.m.
- Train #1214, scheduled to depart Fairview Ave., Downers Grove at 6:12 -, Train #1224, scheduled to arrive at 7:52 a.m., will accommodate passengers
- Train #1204, scheduled to depart Fairview Ave., Downers Grove at 5:42 a.m.
- Train #1207, scheduled to depart Chicago at 6:25 a.m.
- Train #1234, scheduled to depart Fairview Ave., Downers Grove at 7:42 a.m.
- Train #1220, scheduled to arrive at Chicago at 7:26 a.m.- Train #1224, scheduled to arrive at 7:52 AM, will accommodate passengers
- Train #1308, scheduled to depart Lisle at 7:08 a.m. – Train #1310, scheduled to depart Lisle at 7:38 a.m., will accommodate passengers
- Train #1244, scheduled to depart Fairview Avenue/Downers Grove at 8:12 a.m. – Train #1304, scheduled to depart Fairview Avenue/Downers Grove at 8:40 a.m., will accommodate passengers
Trains were back on the move by around 10:40 a.m., though delays may persist.
