October begins with sunshine & plenty of heat

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – September is ending with plenty of clouds over the ArkLaTex.  Sunshine will return to begin the month of October.  That sunshine will bring plenty of heat that will likely stick around through most of the next few weeks.

More sun=More heat: Despite a decrease in clouds over our area on Tuesday night, temperatures will likely stay above normal.  Lows on Wednesday morning will settle into the low to middle 60s.  Daytime highs on Wednesday will likely soar into the low 90s over most of the area.  Normal lows for the beginning of October are in the lower 60s.  Normal daytime highs are in the middle 80s. 

Futurecast outlook for the next 36 hours

Sun, sun, & more sun: Futurecast indicates that we will see a decrease in the clouds over the ArkLaTex on Tuesday night.  Expect a return of plenty of sunshine on Wednesday.  We will then see a clear to partly cloudy sky on Wednesday night and more sunshine on Thursday.

Long-range outlook:  Most models indicate that this dry weather pattern could continue through the rest of this week and possibly all of next week.  Our only hope of a little rain could come late this weekend or early next week.  Temperatures will stay above normal during the next ten days.  Daytime highs will mainly be in the lower 90s.  Overnight lows will mainly be in the mid to upper 60s.
