FOX16 Investigates: Video shows moments of Mad Butcher mass shooting in Fordyce

FORDYCE, Ark. – Arkansas State Police have released surveillance video from inside the Mad Butcher showing the moments a man opened fire on innocent shoppers, changing the Fordyce community forever.

On June 21, 2024, Travis Posey walked into the Mad Butcher in Fordyce and just started shooting.

Posey, 45, was sentenced in August and will spend life in prison for killing 23-year-old Callie Weems, 63-year-old Shirley Taylor, 81-year-old Ellen Shrum and 50-year-old Roy Sturgis. Another 11 people were injured.

Our FOX16 Investigates Team got their hands on the newly released videos showing the moment Posey walked into the Mad Butcher.

Posey was inside the store for a mere two minutes, a rampage that forever left a mark on the community.

The video, shown above, is one of a long report. There are 911 calls, and interviews with the victims that FOX16 Investigates still has to go through.

Check back for updates in the coming weeks.
