Dump truck crash on US-89 kills one, injures another
FAIRVIEW, Utah (ABC4) — A two-car crash involving a dump truck on US-89 left one victim with moderate injuries and killed another.

The crash occurred at about 5 p.m. on September 30 near mile marker 293 of US-89, which is located in Fairview, Utah. It involved two vehicles, a 10-wheeler dump truck and a passenger car.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), the 10-wheeler dump truck lost control and spun into the other lane of travel. It was struck by a passenger car with two occupants inside, a man and a woman.

UHP troopers were dispatched to the scene, treating it as a serious injury crash. Both people in the passenger car were taken to an area hospital, where they were treated for injuries.

The woman suffered fatal injuries from the crash and died, while the man received moderate injuries.

UHP is still investigating the crash, and what exactly caused the dump truck driver to lose control is still under investigation. No further information about the identities of the victims is available at this time.
