California mob storms jewelry store, $1 million in merchandise stolen
Around 1:50 p.m. on Sept 22, the San Ramon Police Department in the Bay Area responded to Heller Jewelers at 6000 Bollinger Canyon Road for a “take-over style” armed robbery. About 20 masked individuals entered the store, smashed display cases, and took numerous items, according to SRPD.
Police said the suspects fled the scene in cars that were waiting in the City Center valet parking area. Officers pursued some of the involved vehicles but said they stopped because of the inherent danger to the public. However, air support was overhead and continued to track the suspect’s vehicle.
Law enforcement air support reportedly tracked the suspects through Contra Costa and into Alameda County. Several suspects were detained at two locations in Oakland and at a second location in Dublin, according to SRPD. So, three suspects have been arrested and face charges connected to the robbery.
“San Ramon Detectives will tirelessly continue their investigation into this incident,” SRPD said.
Anyone who may have witnessed the robbery can contact Detective Corporal Kevin Tjahjadi at (925) 733-7316.
