Anti-Semitic graffiti found in Hyde Park

CHICAGO (WGN) – Chicago police are investigating after anti-Semitic graffiti was recently found in areas of Hyde Park.

Police said the vandalism happened at the following times and locations:

• 5100 block of south University Ave on June 23, 2025 at 2:41PM. (Hyde Park)
• 1300 block of east 53rd St on June 24, 2025 between 1:00 A.M. and 2:00 A.M. (Hyde Park)
• 1300 block of east 54th St on June 24, 2025 at 10:07PM. (Hyde Park)
• 1200 block of east 53rd St on June 29, 2025 at 8:57PM (Hyde Park)
• 1500 block of east 55th St on June 30, 2025 at 11:25AM (Hyde Park)
• 1600 block of east 55th St on July 22, 2025 at 9:52 A.M. (Hyde Park)
• 5000 block of south Greenwood Ave on July 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. (Hyde Park)
• 1300 block of east 53rd St on August 25, 2025 at 2:20 P.M. (Hyde Park)
• 1600 block of east 53rd St on September 22, 2025 at 10:18 P.M. (Hyde Park)

The suspect(s) reportedly placed stickers and/or graffiti with anti-Semitic phrases on various property, such as mailboxes, stop signs, Amazon lockers and emergency bells, according to investigators.

No suspect description was given.

• Report suspicious activity immediately.
• If video surveillance is available, save and make a copy.

• Never pursue a fleeing offender, provide the information to the police.
• Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible.
