Dynamite found in garage in Medina
A report of 50 sticks of suspected dynamite found in a Medina garage on Wednesday afternoon prompted a hazmat incident.
The Medina Police Department and West Suburban Fire Department were notified at about 11:34 a.m. by a resident of the 4600 block of Mohawk Drive about a container he found while cleaning an old garage.
The container appeared to contain 50 sticks of what seemed to be dynamite, according to Medina police.
The immediate area was evacuated until the bomb squad could respond due to the unknown condition of the suspected dynamite.
The Minneapolis Bomb Squad arrived and removed all the items.
Authorities say that the scene is all clear and there is no danger to the public.
