
On September 20, 54-year-old Robb Johnson of West Jordan was killed in a vehicle crash on I-80 near mile marker 259 (also Eureka County mile marker 7), approximately 48 miles east of Battle Mountain, NV.
According to a press release from Nevada State Police, at around 8:40 p.m. Pacific time, a white Peterbilt semi-truck was traveling west on I-80 in the leftmost lane. The truck ran off the left side of the road, entering the center median, and that caused the vehicle to turn over.
The driver was identified as Johnson, and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash after sustaining life-threatening injuries.
The reasons behind the crash are still being investigated. The crash is considered an open investigation, and the Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is conducting the investigation. No further information about the crash is available at this time.
This is the 26th fatality that Nevada Highway Patrol has investigated this year, with 21 fatal crashes in 2025.
