The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said the shooting happened on Sept. 19 at around 4:45 a.m. in the 3400 block of Buckman Road in Woodlawn.
Responding officers found 21-year-old Jaylin Hartless lying on the ground, next to his car. He had been shot in his upper body.
He died there.
After the shooting, Fairfax County Crime Solvers received numerous tips leading FCPD to identify Tavon Ferguson, 31, Tennida Ferguson, 49, and Tavon Lang, 32, as the suspects.
On Sept. 23, detectives located Tavon Ferguson in Woodlawn. He was wanted out of Alexandria City and was transferred to the Adult Detention Center and was held without bond.
He is expected to be extradited to Fairfax County afterwards to face charges for second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
On Sept. 25, detectives found and arrested Tennida Ferguson. She was charged with accessory to murder after the fact, concealing evidence and obstruction of justice.
She is being held without bond.
On Sept. 26, Lang was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He was held without bond.
