Authorities say that they have developed a person of interest, but have not released that person’s identity at this time.
Phenix City police say the shooting stemmed from an argument. Police have a person of interest in the shooting, which happened at Brookwood Park Apartments.
The man was pronounced dead on the scene by the Russell County Coroner’s Office. The woman was transported to a hospital in Columbus. Her injuries did appear to be life-threatening.
Police Capt. Skip Lassiter told WRBL the woman was “shot in the lower extremities,” and police and paramedics were able to control the bleeding on the scene.
The case remains under investigation.
