Mail stolen from across South Bay found in Los Altos Hills
Four suspected mail thieves were found inside a car that was littered with a “stolen stash of opened mail,” SCCSO wrote.
“A vigilant neighbor in Los Altos Hills spotted a group of mail thieves. Deputies Blomdal and Kirby rushed to the scene,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
Deputies searched the car and seized piles of mail that had been stolen from Sunnyvale, Milpitas, San Jose, Los Altos Hills, Fremont, and Los Gatos.
Deputies also found burglary tools, methamphetamine, stolen credit cards, and stolen identification cards.
All four of the suspects have criminal records for theft. Deputies arrested the group on suspicion of mail theft, conspiracy, and identity theft.
“Let’s keep our neighborhood safe. Report suspicious activity and protect your mail,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
