Amy Beth Taylor is charged with first-degree arson. Court documents show deputies responded to a residential fire call Thursday on Peek Road to find flames coming from the home.
According to the affidavit, witnesses told authorities that Taylor had arrived at a property on Peek Road, which was owned by her ex, and walked into a shed where they were sitting. The witnesses claimed she was irate because her ex did not go to a concert with her the previous night.
Witnesses then said she threatened to burn down the shed and the home on the property before walking out. The affidavit states that a short time later, one of the witnesses received a call from a woman in the house saying her room was full of smoke. When she opened her door, the rest of the house was full of smoke as well, according to the affidavit.
Jail records show Taylor was arrested by the sheriff’s office Thursday and is being held in the Morgan County Jail.
