Founder of Nandy’s Candy in Jackson, Nancy King, dies

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The founder of Nandy’s Candy in Jackson has died. According to her family, Nancy King died on September 28, 2025.

Sunday night, our mom and the founder of Nandy’s Candy, Nancy King, passed peacefully with Bill by her side. Fierce, determined, and full of moxie, she built not just a candy business in Mississippi, but a family of employees and customers she cared for deeply.

She never wanted tears, only celebration. Her spirit is alive in all that we do. The shop is open, just as she’d want.

We appreciate all the love and will share details about celebrating her incredible life soon. She will be dearly missed, but forever present in all we do at Nandy’s.
Emmie & Jenny King

King founded Nandy’s Candy in in 1980. The shop has become a Jackson institution over the years and is now owned by King’s daughter, Emmie.
