Cubs fans welcome Wild Card series to Chicago

CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs are back in the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

Game 1 of Major League Baseball’s Wild Card brought fans to Wrigleyville Tuesday afternoon.

And they got to see the Cubs beat the San Diego Padres 3-1.

The Cubs have a true home field advantage in this series against the San Diego padres: All of the games in this round will be played here at Wrigley Field.

Game 2 of the best-of-three series is back at Wrigley Field on Wednesday afternoon.
