The skimmer was found at Cash Savers on the 100 block of Sayles Boulevard around 3:00 p.m. Friday.
An incident report reveals a skimmer device was found on a credit card reader at the store and was taken into custody as evidence.
This is at least the 3rd instance of a credit card skimmer in Abilene in the same week. The other two were located at convenience stores.
Police are advising consumers to use ‘tap-to-pay’ and other contactless pay methods for added protection against fraud.
Detectives are currently investigating all recent skimmer incidents. It’s unknown if they are related to each other at this time.
