Daytime highs will be in the high 60s to low 70s on the coast, low 70s around the bay, and in the low to mid to high 70s inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Fall’s first wet cold front is expected to move into the Bay Area on Monday, bringing rain mainly to the North Bay and cloudy, windy skies across the region. Forecasters say the front, located about 300 miles west of Bodega Bay early morning, is pushing in with widespread southerly winds and heavy cloud cover.
As the system arrives, the North Bay is expected to see about a quarter inch of rain on Monday afternoon and evening, while the Peninsula is forecast to receive about a tenth of an inch. The East Bay, South Bay and Central Coast may only get a few hundredths of an inch, according to the NWS.
The system’s surface low is expected to make landfall Tuesday morning. Forecasters say conditions for thunderstorms in the North Bay are present but not lining up perfectly. Still, there is a slight 15% chance of thunderstorms late Monday afternoon into the evening, with Santa Rosa showing the most potential.
