Officials say Lois Chandler, Julie Cowan and Jennifer Fritsch are the members of the 17th class. They were selected by a statewide committee after an application process. The formal 2025 Hall of Fame ceremony will happen on November 7 on WKU’s campus.
WKU says Chandler, from LaCenter, Kentucky, was an educator for 56 years in various elementary schools, including Bandana, Concord and Ballard Elementaries. She passed away in 2020 at the age of 92.
Officials say Cowan, from Columbia, Kentucky, is a current educator at Adair County Primary Center. During her 33-year long and counting career, she has also worked at Colonel William Casey Elementary.
WKU says Fritsch, from Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a current art teacher at Glasgow Middle School. This is her 23rd year teaching.
According to WKU, the Governor Louie B. Nunn Kentucky Teacher Hall of Fame was established in 2000 through a gift from former Governor Nunn, aimed at honoring the contributions of Kentucky’s classroom teachers and their impact on the state’s economy.
