There are six schools included in the proposed plan. These renovations would help build classrooms, install safety updates, adding a new fieldhouse to the high school and more.
“We have worked on this for a long time,” Superintendent Sheila Meggers said. “A lot of thought has gone into it. We’re really trying to think about what our students need in the long run and thinking 20, 30 years down the road. And we also are going to walk through what’s happening at each building. So one of the great things about this bond is that it will touch every building in our district, every elementary, our middle school and our high school will all benefit from this bond. It really will do some updates district-wide.”
The cost to homeowners in the area would only be $17.25 per year for a house worth $100,000. Voters will decide on the Nov. 4 ballot, and until then, the school district will continue to hold meetings to answer questions.
