(KRON) — It’s finally here. Gilroy residents craving Dutch Bros Coffee don’t need to travel far anymore. The first location in the South Bay city opened on Monday.

Dutch Bros opened its first Gilroy location at 301 E Tenth St. Hours of operation are from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, they are open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Gilroy Dutch Bros will have a drive-thru and pickup window. The Oregon-founded coffee chain is known for its quick-access drive-thru that has convenienced customers for years.

The Gilroy location will have an “exclusive Dutch Bros Rebel™ energy drink” and Nitro Cold Brew coffee on their menu, Dutch Bros said.

This location is neighbored by the Gilroy Motorcycle Center, Grocery Outlet and a Wendy’s. Rumors about the Dutch Bros opening in Gilroy date back more than a year ago.

The Dutch Bros’ opening comes at a time when rival coffee chain Starbucks closed hundreds of locations nationwide, including several in the Bay Area.

Dutch Bros first opened as a pushcart in Grants Pass, Ore. in 1992.

More than 30 years later, Dutch Bros has more than 1,000 locations across the U.S., including more than 10 in the Bay Area.
