New Castle man faces more than two dozen charges in child exploitation case

NEW CASTLE, Ind. – A New Castle man faces more than two dozen charges in connection with an investigation into sexually explicit images and videos of children.

Corey L. Lindsay, 47, is charged with 20 counts of child exploitation, each a Level 4 felony, and seven counts of possession of child pornography, each a Level 5 felony, according to court documents filed in Henry County last week.

The investigation started in April with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which notified law enforcement about sexually explicit material involving children.

Investigators tracked the IP address and traced it to a Verizon phone registered to Lindsay. The phone number belonged to him, as did an email address associated with the account.

Nude photos and videos of underage girls had been uploaded through Kik Messenger, an online messaging app, according to court documents.

On April 24, 2025, investigators executed a search warrant at Lindsay’s home in New Castle. He initially didn’t want to be interviewed by the police, but later consented to an interview.

A woman who was associated with Lindsay said she had noticed inappropriate material on his phone and confronted him about it.

During his interview, Lindsay said he had accessed explicit material and shared it with other people on the Kik Messenger platform using his phone. He didn’t know the names or the identities of the people he’d shared the material with.

He told police he accessed the material when he was going through a bipolar or depressive state and didn’t remember much about the circumstances, according to court documents. He claimed he didn’t realize the girls in the images and videos were underage.

When asked if he’d taken the photos/videos himself or had ever asked a minor for nude images, he responded, “Hell, no,” according to court documents.

Online court records indicated Lindsay had an initial hearing last week. A trial has been tentatively scheduled for January 2026.
