The grant will be used to hire a consultant to assist with branding and signage efforts in Abbeville. This initiative is part of Mayor Roslyn White’s master plan to enhance the city’s image and community engagement.
Charlene Beckett, Director of Abbeville Main Street, stated that the city of Abbeville was fortunate to receive an $18,000 grant for community brand development.
The grant is intended to involve community feedback through online surveys and group meetings with various stakeholders. This approach aims to ensure that the branding reflects the community’s vision and needs.
Beckett expressed excitement about the project, noting that the design of branding and signage will be shaped by community input.
“That’s the beauty of this grant,” she said.
Abbeville is one of 12 communities across Louisiana to receive funding at different levels from the Louisiana Main Street Office, highlighting a statewide effort to support local development.
