Man critically injured in shooting in Cumberland
CUMBERLAND, Ind. — A man was critically injured in a shooting in Cumberland on Sunday night.

Public police reporting systems indicate officers were called to the 11000 block of Dunshire Drive — which is located off of East 10th Street — around 7 p.m. to investigate a shooting. A spokesperson for the Cumberland Police Department later confirmed that officers found a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds when they arrived at the scene.

CPD reported that the man was transported from the scene to a local hospital after the shooting. Police have indicated that the man is currently in critical condition.

Law enforcement believes the shooting may have occurred inside a residence in the area. Investigators have spoken with a person they located inside the home they believe the shooting happened in.

It is currently unclear if CPD has formally arrested anybody at this point in its investigation of the shooting. As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the shooting or the circumstances that led it had been made available.
