Man arrested in connection with Dumaine Street homicide

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was arrested Saturday, Sept. 27 in connection with a homicide on Dumaine Street.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, 26-year-old Enrique Garcia was taken into custody and booked into the Orleans Justice Center.

At around 7:55 a.m. on Saturday, the NOPD responded to reports of a shooting on Dumaine Street. Upon arrival, deputies found a man suffering a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

The NOPD has accused Garcia as the perpetrator. He faces one count of second-degree murder.
