Dry start to work week, Summer temperatures remain
We’re continuing to follow Hurricane Humberto in the Atlantic. After reaching Category 5 status Saturday, Humberto has weakened some, though it remains a powerful Category 4 hurricane. From here, Humberto will get pulled out into the open Atlantic waters and miss Bermuda as it weakens.
Newly-designated Tropical Storm Imelda is starting to get better organized. It will continue strengthening over the coming days, and could see a brief bout of rapid intensification. Models are pretty set on Imelda getting tugged out to the Atlantic away from the U.S. thanks to Humberto. It does appear that Imelda could affect Bermuda by the end of the week. Regardless, dangerous rip currents and surf will be a threat along the East Coast from Florida to the Carolinas this week.
Locally, dry conditions continue through Wednesday, but humidity levels begin to creep up late Tuesday. Rain chances return to the forecast starting Thursday, but our best rain chances look to come this weekend for daily spotty storms to bring some cooling relief.
