I-77 north near Uptown reopen after disabled vehicle: NCDOT

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — I-77 north near Uptown has reopened after it was closed for a few hours due to a disabled vehicle, according to NCDOT.

Traffic officials reported the road closure around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday near Exit 9B (I-277). There was a crash at that spot hours earlier, but it’s unclear if that’s why the road was closed.

A Queen City News photographer at the scene saw someone being taken into custody by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

We reached out to Medic and CMPD to learn more about the road closure.

NCDOT reported the roadway was reopened around 7 a.m.
