Edna Karr and St. Aug are ready for week five battle after impressive wins on Saturday

NEW ORLEANS — The opening week of Catholic League play featured a big District 9-5A doubleheader at Tad Gormley Stadium on Saturday.

In the first game of the day, the Edna Karr Cougars showed dominance in a 42-3 win over Holy Cross.

The main event featured a matchup between St. Aug and Warren Easton. The Purple Knights continued their explosive run with a 47-22 win over the Eagles.

Two of the most talented teams in the Catholic League now turn their attention to a week five battle at Behrman Stadium.

Karr and St. Aug will face off Friday at 7 p.m.
