RICHMOND, Ind. — A shooting is being investigated after one person was shot in Richmond on Saturday morning.

According to the Richmond Police Department, a 911 call was received reporting that someone was experiencing trouble breathing in the 800 block of North 19th Street.

Members of the Richmond Fire Department arrived to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police then responded and located a crime scene in the 900 block of North 19th Street.

The victim was initially taken to Reid Health before being transferred to a local hospital. Currently, there is no update on the status of his condition.

Police stated that it was an isolated incident and that there is no further threat to the community.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
