(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Ready to get lost in fall colors? There are several farms just outside Charlotte that offer fall fun for the whole family — including corn mazes.

Some keep with their family traditions, while other change each year with new themes. Most of them are only available on the weekends, and large groups often require advanced notice.

Here’s where to immerse yourself in crops, challenge your mind and enjoy the new season:

Historic Rural Hill  

4431 Neck Road, Huntersville  

When: Daytime Friday-Sunday through Oct. 31, night maze Saturday-Sunday starting Oct. 3  

About: Immerse yourself in one of north Mecklenburg County’s biggest fall traditions. Rural Hill’s Corn Maze takes visitors through the farm’s cornfield, with twists and turns at every corner. The maze offers more than just a puzzling adventure. In October, the night maze opens for a spookier experience. 

In addition to the maze, Rural Hill also has food trucks, bounce houses for the kids, and local beer. 

Cost: $11-22; buy tickets in advance 

Hall Family Farm  

445 W. Rebound Road, Lancaster, S.C.    

When: Friday-Sunday  

About: Fall season on the Hall farm features a 7-acre corn maze, pumpkin picking, a musical hayride, and more. The small maze typically takes 15 minutes to navigate, while the larger route can take up to 2 hours. Bring a stroller or wagon for smaller kids.

Cost: $4.49 small maze; $11.99 large maze 

Cherry Place Farm  

1922 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, S.C.  

When: Saturdays and Sundays Oct. 4-26 (& Oct. 10) 

About: The October festival at Cherry Place is a self-guided tour that features the 2-acre corn maze, hayrides, visiting and feeding the animals, and barnyard play areas for children. It typically takes visitors between 20-30 minutes to complete the maze, and maps are available.  

Cost: $10 for ages 2 and up; all activities are included 

Country Days Corn Maze  

416 Joe Lee Helms Road, Indian Trail  

When: Friday-Sunday Sept. 26-Nov. 1 

About: This Union County farm lets visitors play “MAZE-O-POLY” at this year’s corn maze. The gameboard-inspired maze spans 7 acres, with farm-themed squares. Options for Big Maze and Little Ears Maze. It’s available weekdays for field trips and other large groups; reservations only. 

Cost: $6 for the little maze, $10 for the big maze; $24/26 with unlimited farm activities 

Red Wolf Farm 

1900 HW Farm Road, Maiden 

When: Saturdays and Sunday Sept. 27 through Oct. 26 

About: This 100-acre farm lets visitors take a tractor ride, play in the corn kernels and maze, play on the inflatables, and spend time with animals. Admission includes all activities, including the maze, and pumpkins can be purchased in the patch.  

Cost: $9; Children 2 and younger are free 

Thomas Family Corn Maze 

20935 N.C. 73, Albemarle 

When: Tuesday through Sunday through Nov. 1 

About: The 10-acre family-friendly corn maze is available both on the weekend and during the week. Groups of 20 or more are asked to call ahead to make reservations. The farm also offers wall ball, a corn pit, basketball, pedal karts, hayrides, swings and more.   

Cost: $16 single day pass, $37 for season pass
