Spirit Airlines to end MSP serviceThe company says it’s part of an ongoing restructuring.
Travelers will soon have one fewer airline option at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
A spokesperson for Spirit Airlines confirmed to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that the airline will stop service to MSP on Dec. 1.
The decision is part of an “ongoing restructuring,” the budget carrier, known for its bright yellow planes and no-frills service, said.
Any travelers who’ve already booked flights on Spirit after Dec. 1 will be contacted by the airline and given a full refund, the spokesperson added.

The move comes after Spirit filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month and amid plans to furlough 1,800 flight attendants before the end of the year.
