Closures beginning Friday night will impact drivers in St. Paul and Golden Valley.

St. Paul

There are two major closures to be on the lookout for in downtown St. Paul this weekend as MnDOT continues its work to repair nine bridges over I-94 and I-35E.

Westbound I-94 between I-35E and John Ireland Boulevard and southbound I-35E between University Avenue and 10th Street in downtown St. Paul will both be closed until 5 a.m. Monday.

If you were planning on taking that portion of I-94, you’ll be redirected to northbound I-35E, then to westbound Highway 36, and finally to southbound Highway 280. Traffic on southbound I-35E will be redirected to eastbound I-94, then to southbound Highway 52, then to I-494.

Golden Valley

Westbound Highway 55 will be closed between Highway 100 and Thomas Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Traffic will be redirected to westbound I-94, to eastbound I-694, then to East River Road, then to westbound I-694, then to southbound Highway 100, then back to westbound Highway 55.
