Taylor County Sheriff’s Office warns of arrest and payment phone scam

TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) is warning the public about a phone scam in which a caller falsely claims there is an arrest warrant or requests money.

According to police, the caller is identifying as Sergeant Kevin Brown and is calling from a (325) 525-2554 phone number.

TCSO officials would like to remind citizens that they will not call and demand money over the phone.

Citizens are encouraged to hang up and call (325) 674-1300 to verify the information. They are also advised not to pay any money over the phone or by Bitcoin.
