“When you come out to the festival and you see everything we have, you can look really closely and see our culture reflecting back into all of the different things that are out here. From the drinks to the food, music, and art, it’s all representative of who we are as a people of north Louisiana,” said Lewis.
Attendees like Tangeka Sawyer say this event is perfect for families that are looking to come out and have a good time.
“We’ve come before, but I just wanted to bring my kids out. It’s family fun and enjoyable. We got to get some good food and enjoy some children’s activities. So, we just enjoy coming out just to spend some time together,” said Sawyer.
Aside from family fun, the Red River Revel Fest is perfect for business owners like Whitney Tates, who are trying to expand their clientele.
“There’s a lot of support here, and I come back every year because I get more collectors every year. It gets my name out there throughout Shreveport-Bossier and even a little beyond that,” said Tates.
Vendors say if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, this festival is the perfect place to be.
“Come out and see us. We’re here all weekend. We put a lot of work into this, and we’d love to see your faces,” said Tates.
