Pineville drivers advised to be cautious amid downtown demolition

PINEVILLE, La. (WNTZ) – Drivers in Pineville should expect traffic delays and plan alternate routes Saturday morning as crews work to demolish a vacant downtown building, police said.

According to the Pineville Police Department, sections of East Shamrock Street and Main Street will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sept. 27 to allow demolition crews to safely tear down the old Red River Rarities building.

Officials urged motorists to use caution in the area, follow detour signs, and allow extra travel time.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to keep both workers and drivers safe,” the department said in a statement.
