The civil lawsuit was filed in the 19th Judicial District Court. Judge Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts was assigned to the case.
Wilson died at the age of 20 in a hazing incident off Southern’s campus in February. He was reportedly punched in the chest four times while in an unsanctioned pledging ritual at a warehouse.
Police arrested Caleb McCray, Kyle Thurman and Isaiah Smith in connection with Wilson’s death. Omega Psi Phi expelled all three from the fraternity after they were taken into custody.
The latest court records show McCray, 24, has a bond review scheduled for Oct. 13. A motion was filed in August asking the court to modify bond conditions to allow Thurman, 25, to move to Texas for work reasons. The court ordered that Smith, 29, not have any guns and no contact with the co-defendant in June.
Southern University expelled the Omega Psi Phi fraternity from its campus in July, and later over the summer, removed the chapter’s plot. The university had placed a pause on membership intake activities after Wilson’s death as it conducted an internal investigation.
A foundation created in Wilson’s namesake launched in September and aims to raise awareness about the dangers of hazing.
