Body of Kentucky college student recovered along Texas-Louisiana border

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The body of a member of Campbellsville University’s kayak bass fishing team was recovered Friday morning after a nearly two-day-long search.

Peyton Hughes, 21, had been reported missing on Sept. 24, according to Texas Game Wardens.

Authorities said he had been pre-fishing on the border of Texas and Louisiana ahead of a Bassmaster Kayak Series at the time.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

At 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Hughes’ body was recovered by game wardens and members of the Sabine Parish and Sabine County Sheriff’s Office.
