Body of Kentucky college student recovered along Texas-Louisiana border
Peyton Hughes, 21, had been reported missing on Sept. 24, according to Texas Game Wardens.
Authorities said he had been pre-fishing on the border of Texas and Louisiana ahead of a Bassmaster Kayak Series at the time.
At 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Hughes’ body was recovered by game wardens and members of the Sabine Parish and Sabine County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our thoughts continue to be with Peyton’s family, friends, teammates and fellow students at Campbellsville University during this difficult time,” Texas wardens said.
