24-year-old killed in multi-vehicle crash in west Charlotte
The accident happened on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the 3500 block of Sam Wilson Road. Officers responded to a serious crash involving two vehicles, a Hyundai Elantra and a Hyundai Tucson.
When police arrived, they found the Elantra badly damaged on the shoulder of the road. Inside were the driver, 24-year-old Jaquavias Deshawn Holley, and two passengers. Holley had life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The passengers had non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Tucson was not seriously hurt.
Sadly, Holley died at the hospital the following day, on Wednesday, Sept. 24, CMPD said.
According to detectives, the Elantra was speeding before it hit the Tucson and rolled over.
No charges have been filed, and police said the investigation is still active.
