1 critically injured following shooting in Owensboro

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – One person was critically injured following a shooting early Friday morning.

The Owensboro Police Department says just before 1 a.m., OPD responded to reports of a shooting victim in the 900 block of Pennbrooke Avenue.

Officers found the victim after a bystander helped with multiple gunshot wounds and unresponsive. Lifesaving measures were administered until medical personnel took over. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is still in critical condition.

OPD says several shell casings were found in a nearby parking lot and identified several unoccupied vehicles that were hit by gunfire.
