Woman found dead after West Town high-rise fire
Officials from the Chicago Fire Department say the blaze erupted at the Northwest Towers Apartments, located in the 1100 block of West Erie Street, in West Town.
It is currently unclear what time the blaze broke out, but crews said shortly after they arrived, they found a woman dead on the scene.
Crews were eventually able to stamp out the blaze, though it is unclear if any of the building’s residents were impacted.
According to officials, an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway.
Authorities have not identified the victim killed or provided updates on her cause of death.
