Three, including teen, arrested in gang-related Sonoma gas station stabbing
The incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Chevron gas station in the 500 block of West Napa Street. Police said the 22-year-old male victim was found at the location with a stab wound to his leg. He was taken to a nearby trauma center for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects had run away from the scene before officers arrived, said Sonoma police.
Police said the suspects were later located at a nearby residence just before midnight. The 17-year-old was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County juvenile detention center. The other suspects, identified as Ernan Valencia Madrigal, 35, and Felix Reyes Valencia, 22, both of Sonoma, were arrested, booked and remain in custody at the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
“Through the investigation it was determined that this assault was not the result of a robbery or random attack, rather an intentional act related to gang participation,” said Sonoma police.
The three individuals face several charges, including conspiracy, burglary and attempted murder.
Police said there are no remaining suspects sought in this case.
