San Francisco-bound band's van broken into during tour, valuable instruments stolen
The van’s windows were smashed, and several valuable items were stolen. The band posted photos of the damage done to the van on a GoFundMe page (below).
Daisy the Great said “several instruments and sentimental items” were stolen. Even all of drummer Matti’s clothes and shoes were stolen. P
“It is already so difficult to afford touring, so when stuff like this happens, it can be pretty disheartening and challenging on the road :/ Anything that you can donate to help would be greatly appreciated to help us get our van fixed and get back on stage,” the band wrote on GoFundMe. “It could have been a lot worse, and luckily we have enough instruments and gear remaining to continue on our tour.”
Daisy the Great received plenty of support to get back on its feet after the break-in. As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe has raised more than $14,000 of a $10,000 goal. The band says they are “overwhelmed” by the support, according to an Instagram post to its 155,000 followers.
“Overwhelmed feeling very loved and supported by our community (right now) thank you so much,” Daisy the Great posted on their Instagram story Wednesday. “Another great way to support us is to come to the rest of the tour we’re on :,) we’re only halfway through. SF tomorrow and LA is Friday.”
Daisy the Great is set to perform Thursday night at Cafe Du Nord in San Francisco. For its “The Rubber Teeth Talk” tour, the band has seven more stops after the Bay Area.
