Ringtown Senior Citizens Center to host talk on Sheppton Mine Disaster
RINGTOWN – Ringtown area residents will have the opportunity to hear about the Sheppton Mine Disaster in October.
The Ringtown Senior Citizens group is hosting a talk by Dave Williams, an anthracite mining engineer, on the 1963 Sheppton Mine Disaster.
It’s set for Oct. 14 at 12:45pm with a lunch preceding at noon at the senior citizens center, 104 West Main Street.
Registration is required due to space limitations. Call 570-889-3241 to register.
Guests can arrive for the program only, but still must register.
