Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Online Multiplayer Mode Fox Hunt Has a Release Date, Fresh Update Out Now

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s online multiplayer mode Fox Hunt arrives October 30 as part of a free update, Konami has announced.

The “hide-and-seek” multiplayer mode for up to 12 players launches across PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S two months after the base game came out.

Fox Hunt drops players into a jungle stealth action setting, with cat-and-mouse encounters that blend survival tactics with the series’ trademark sneaking mechanics.

Two types of game modes will be available with up to 12 players, Konami said.

Survival Capture:

A tense, multi-phase mission where victory hinges on capturing the elusive Kerotan frogs. Their numbers dwindle as the match progresses, forcing players into intense clashes as they race to secure each from and outlast their opponents.

Survival Intrude:

A high-pressure mission where players must hold their ground inside a designated zone to progress through each phase. As the match advances, the number of zones shrinks, making stealth and positioning even more critical.

Each player has an AT-CAMO suit as standard gear, allowing them to instantly deploy a full-body suit that changes camouflage patterns to suit different scenarios — whether evading pursuit, launching surprise attacks, or infiltrating.

You detect enemies and items using Naked Sense, an action that detects enemy presence and item locations.

Meanwhile, the base game received an update today, September 25, that makes a number of improvements and fixes. The patch notes, posted to Steam, are below:

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Update Ver. 1.1.4 patch notes:

This update includes the following improvements and fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where Snake’s voice lines would sometimes play in English regardless of the selected language settings.
  • Fixed an issue where some characters and animals would sometimes disappear during certain cutscenes.
  • Fixed an issue where Snake’s Japanese and English voice lines would swap in certain cutscenes.
  • Fixed an issue where players could become unable to climb onto rocks at certain moments during the battle with The Pain.
  • Minor bug fixes and adjustments.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has sold 1 million copies since going on sale at the end of August. IGN’s Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater review returned an 8/10. We said: “Between its old-school stealth-action gameplay and engaging spy-thriller story, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater largely succeeds as a faithful, visually impressive remake of the 2004 classic.”
